Bridgestone sues Texas tiremaker

Bridgestone on Friday filed suit against Commerce Max Inc., saying the Texas company is profiting off of the Bridgestone and Firestone names by selling tires that it calls `Amberstone` alongside Bridgestone`s well-known and heavily marketed brands.
The suit, filed Friday in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, demands that Commerce Max stop selling Amberstone tires, destroy all marketing materials that contain the name, inform its customers that Amberstone is not a Bridgestone brand and pay Bridgestone any profits that were made from Amberstone sales, as well as damages and legal fees.
Dollar General and a local trucking broker also are fighting trademark battles that began last week.
