Are F1 Tire Changes Enough to Keep Bridgestone?

Included in these amendments is a proposal to reduce the number of tire sets allocated to each driver from 14 to 11. In addition, to encourage teams to run during the Friday practice sessions, one set has to be returned before the start of the second practice session, and two sets before the start of the third practice session.
It is speculated that the move to reduce the number of sets available to teams is to entice Bridgestone to remain as the series` sole tire supplier. Bridgestone has previously said it would quit F1 following the upcoming 2010 season.
The proposals will be submitted to the FIA World Motor Sport Council for final approval before Feb. 4, the FIA says.
